South Jersey Finest documents the restaurants, shops, and organizations people around here recommend to each other. We are building it one business at a time, and right now we are looking for the first ones.

Getting listed is free. It always will be.

Your listing, your photos, your hours, your links, your story. None of that costs anything, and none of it ever will. A directory that hides local businesses behind a paywall is not a local guide, it is a billboard. We are not building that.

We are also new. The site launched this year and the newsletter is just starting, so you will not hear a pitch about millions of impressions. Right now we are writing stories for free, because we need good businesses to write about more than we need your money.

Getting in now costs you 45 minutes and gets you a story plus a set of photos you own outright.

How we keep this trustworthy

Listings are never paidEvery business on this site is here because it belongs here. No business has ever paid to be listed, and none ever will.

Money does not buy a reviewWe will tell your story well. We will not invent praise, post fake reviews, or rank you higher because you paid.

Anything paid gets labeledIf a story or placement is ever sponsored, it says so on the page. Readers can tell the difference, and that is the point.

You own your photosEvery photo we take of your business is yours to use. Post it, print it, put it on your own site.

What will eventually cost money

So there are no surprises later, here is everything we expect to charge for one day. Notice what is not on the list: being listed, and being written about.

The big onePrinted mailersA South Jersey Finest postcard sent to every home on a route, featuring ten or twelve local businesses with QR codes to their stories. Real distribution to real mailboxes, split between businesses so nobody carries the whole postage bill alone.

PlacementHomepage and top slotsThe front page and the top of a category page only fit so many businesses. Those spots will be paid eventually. Your listing still appears either way, in the same search results as everyone else.

OccasionalSponsored featuresMost stories on this site are free and always will be. Now and then a business wants one on a schedule we would not otherwise get to. Those get written the same way and labeled as sponsored.

OccasionalNewsletter spotsOne partner per issue of The Monthly Find, once there are enough readers for that to mean anything. Never a page of ads.

None of this is for sale today. It is here so you know exactly what you are getting into, and so nobody feels ambushed in six months.

What being featured looks like

You reach outEmail or fill out the nomination form. Tell us the business and the best time to catch you when you are not slammed.
We come byUsually 30 to 45 minutes. We shoot the room, the food or the work, and you if you are willing. We ask how you got started and what people order most.
You see it before anyone elseWe send the draft and the photos. Corrections are free and expected. Nothing publishes until you say go.
It goes live and gets sharedYour story, your profile, the newsletter, and social. You get the photos and a link to send your own customers.
