These terms cover the use of southjerseyfinest.com and anything we publish under the South Jersey Finest name. Using the site means you accept them.
What this site is
South Jersey Finest is an independent local directory and publication. We document restaurants, shops, organizations, and community spaces around South Jersey. We are not affiliated with any government body, chamber of commerce, or tourism board, and we are not a review platform.
Accuracy
We make a real effort to keep listings correct, but hours change, businesses move, and kitchens close early. Confirm details with the business before you make the drive. We are not responsible for a wasted trip.
Being listed is free
Listings on this site are free and always will be. No business has paid to appear in the directory, and inclusion is our editorial decision. Being listed is not an endorsement we sell, and it is not something a business can buy its way into.
If you own a business here and want your information corrected, updated, or removed entirely, email us. We will take care of it, and we will not ask you to justify the request.
Paid placements and sponsored content
Some placements may be paid, including featured positions, sponsored stories, newsletter spots, and printed mailers. When something is paid, it will say so on the page.
Paying does not buy a positive write-up, a better ranking in search results on this site, or the removal of anything unflattering. If we would not recommend a place, we will not take money to say otherwise. We may decline any business for any reason.
Printed mailers
We produce printed postcards featuring local businesses, mailed through the United States Postal Service to every address on a delivery route.
If your business buys a spot, you are giving us permission to use your name, logo, images, and description on that printed piece and in related promotion. Spots are confirmed when payment is received. Because printing and postage are paid up front and cannot be recovered once a job goes to press, payments are non-refundable after artwork is approved and sent to print. Before that point, tell us and we will refund you.
We do not guarantee any level of response, foot traffic, phone calls, or sales from a mailer, a listing, or a story. Nobody honestly can.
QR codes and links
Printed materials may carry QR codes pointing to pages on this site. We may count how many times those codes are scanned in order to understand whether a mailer worked. This counts scans, not people.
Nominations and submissions
When you nominate a business or send us information, you are giving us permission to use it in our editorial work. Do not send us anything confidential. Nominating a business does not guarantee it gets featured, and most nominations do not, simply because there is one of us.
Photographs and content
Words and photographs on this site belong to South Jersey Finest unless noted otherwise. Businesses we photograph receive full rights to their own photos and may use them however they like.
You are welcome to link to anything here, quote a reasonable excerpt with credit, or share our posts. Republishing whole stories without permission is not okay.
Business names, logos, and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here for identification. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, email us and we will review it promptly.
The read-aloud feature
Some pages can be read aloud using speech software built into your browser. It is a convenience, not a substitute for the written page. Pronunciation is handled by your device and may get names wrong. Where the spoken and written versions differ, the written page is the accurate one.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to submit false or misleading information about a business, to harass anyone, to scrape or copy the directory wholesale, or to attempt to interfere with how the site runs. We may remove submissions or block access if you do.
Accounts
Writers and editors may be given accounts to contribute. Accounts are personal, must not be shared, and we may suspend or remove one at any time.
Links to other sites
We link to business websites and social pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for what is on them.
The newsletter
The Monthly Find is sent monthly and you can unsubscribe from any issue. We do not sell the subscriber list.
Liability
This site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for losses arising from the use of the site, from reliance on anything published here, or from your dealings with any business listed. Your experience at a business is between you and that business. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you have paid us, if anything, in the twelve months prior.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Burlington County, New Jersey.
